Jacy Pulse, a University of South Dakota senior and South Dakota native, secured a spot in the 2024 Olympic Trial Semifinals with a 56.99 400-meter dash on Thursday. This is no surprise since Pulse had already clocked three sub 57 second times this season alone. Pulse, a Salem native and two-time All-American, was named the Summit League Female Outdoor Track
Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year.
Pulse will lace them up again on Thursday at 6:41 CT on NBC to try and advance to the finals. Pulse is not the only Dakota native wanting to represent their country in the Olympics, Chris Nilsen already secured his spot on Team USA last weekend in the men’s pole vault, earning a berth in his second
consecutive Olympics after a silver medal performance in Tokyo.
