LINCOLN, Neb. – It didn’t take Nebraska long to find a replacement for former defensive backs coach Evan Cooper. The Cornhuskers are expected to hire former Bills assistant coach John Butler, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Cooper surprisingly resigned from his position on Friday. John Butler also has NFL experience with the Texans. Butler has previously worked at Minnesota, South Carolina and Penn State at the Power 4 level, as well as some smaller schools. At Nebraska, Butler will work under Matt Rhule, who is entering his second seasons as the Nebraska head coach. The Cornhuskers finished the 2023 campaign with a 5-7 record.
