JULY 8, 2024:
A state prison offender who was placed on escape status in May is back in custody.
Inmate Ryan Shot With Arrow was arrested in Sioux Falls on July 4, 2024, and is currently being held in the Minnehaha County Jail. Shot With Arrow was one of two offenders who left the Rapid City Minimum Center without authorization on May 29, 2024. Offender Adam Poor Bear was apprehended May 31 in Rapid City.
MAY 31, 2024:
One of the state prison offenders placed on escape status earlier this week is back in custody.
Adam Poor Bear was apprehended May 31, 2024, and was transported to the Pennington County Jail.
Poor Bear and Offender Ryan Shot With Arrow left the Rapid City Minimum Center without authorization on May 29, 2024.
Shot With Arrow remains on escape status.

Two state prison offenders have been placed on escape status from the Rapid City Minimum Center.
Adam Poor Bear and Ryan Shot With Arrow left the without authorization Wednesday (May 29, 2024).
Poor Bear, age 30, is a Native American male. He is 5-feet-11 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He is serving sentences for first-degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance from Pennington County.
Shot With Arrow, age 30, is a Native American male. He is 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He is serving sentences for aggravated assault, grand theft, and possession of a controlled substance from Minnehaha County.
An offender leaving a correctional facility without authorization constitutes second-degree escape, a Class 5 felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
