Games to watch
July 18: Dell Rapids Mudcats (19-1) at Madison Dairy Queen Broncos (9-7)
Since losing to the Mudcats on June 13 the Madison Dairy Queen Broncos have been on a roll, winning seven straight including wins over Canova and the Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks. With two Cornbelt League games remaining the Broncos could still move up in the league standings, and a win against the top seeded Mudcats could do just that.
July 21: Redfield Dairy Queen (16-0) at Castlewood Ravens (11-6)
Redfield has cruised through the regular season with an undefeated record but we’ll see how it faces off against the Ravens in non-league action. The Ravens have some of the best hitting in the state with Gus Stieger and Nate Phinney each batting over .450 with four home runs on the season.
July 21: Corsica Horned Frogs (5-9) at Mount Vernon Mustangs (5-9-1)
This game will determine a lot when it comes to the Sunshine League standings and first round tournament matchups. Mount Vernon sits at the bottom of the standings but with a win on July 18 against Alexandria and a win over Corsica on July 21, it could move out of the bottom spots and avoid a first-round matchup with Winner/Colome.
