The hot new workout trend is “rucking” . . . walking around while wearing a heavy “rucksack” or backpack.
It’s based on how members of the military train. They have to do a lot of walking and running while they carry their equipment around.
It’s gotten popular on social media because you probably have everything you need to do it, and don’t need to buy any special equipment.
Just grab a backpack from your closet, and fill it up with something heavy, like books. Or you can start small and just toss a water bottle in there.
Adding some extra weight gets your heart rate up faster than if you just walk at a leisurely pace. And it adds more strength training into the mix.
