South Dakota U.S. Senator Mike Rounds will serve as the Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance and Investment.
Rounds said the subcommittee has an important role in furthering policies that will positively impact the financial industry in South Dakota and across the country. He said his priorities for the group are:
-
promoting policies that encourage economic growth, capital formation and investor protection;
-
protecting our state-based insurance system;
-
reforming and reauthorizing the National Flood Insurance Program; and
-
developing legislation to ultimately remove the government-sponsored enterprises from conservatorship.
