Pierre, S.D. – Pierre’s publicly-owned golf course hit a decade high in 2024 with 33,441 rounds played and more than 520 memberships sold.
According to Bryan Tipton, City Parks and Recreation Director, Hillsview had a few rebuilding years after the 2011 flood but has seen numbers trending upwards ever since.
“We have really focused on customer service the last couple of years,” said Tipton. “We also have a strong base of enthusiastic golfers in and around Pierre and it continues to grow.”
Tipton says the golfing community can expect customer service to remain a focus in 2025.
Course Manager Chad Wise holds the concessionaire contract for the Hillsview Golf Course. Weather dependent, Wise will open the clubhouse for the season March 15. Prior to that, the pro shop is available by appointment.
The Clubhouse is a full-service facility featuring a pro-shop, snack bar, grill, and seating for 80.
Hillsview Municipal Golf course is a par 72 course set along the bluffs of the Missouri River. The course features bent grass greens, bluegrass fairways and tees. It offers four sets of tees based on playing ability: Black, gold, silver and white.
Annual memberships are available for purchase at Pierre City Hall or at CityofPierre.org
