March 17, 2025:
The law enforcement agencies were victorius in this year’s “Guns and Hoses” blood drive in Chamberlain (March 11-12, 2025).
Accordingto Ken Versteeg with the Community Blood Bank, the friendly competition between the Brule County Sheriff’s Office, Chamberlain Police Department and Chamberlain Fire Department was close right up to the end. He said once votes were counted, it was Team Guns getting the win with 42 donation votes vs. Team Hoses with 38 donation votes.
All the blood collected helps patients at Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center.
March 10, 2025:
The annual Guns N’ Hoses community blood drive in Chamberlain will be held March 10-11, 2025.
Hours for the blood drive are:
- Monday, March 10, 2025, from 10am-12:30pm and 2-6pm at the Chamberlain Fire Station
- Tuesday, March 11 from 7:30am-11am and 12:30-3:30pm at Chamberlain High School
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. Please bring an I.D. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluid prior to donating.

The blood drive is hosted by the Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center Auxiliary, Chamberlain Law Enforcement, Chamberlain Fire Department and the Community Blood Bank.
