All good things must come to an end. Yesterday, the Brewers ended the longest winning streak in baseball with a 5-2 victory over the Twins. Milwaukee got on Minnesota early, taking a 4-0 lead in the third. Minnesota scored once in the fourth and once in the seventh, but couldn’t recapture the magic and would see their streak end at thirteen games.
While it is sad the streak is over, the Twins helped themselves immensely with this run. They jumped from the fourth spot in the Central to now sitting in second place, five games back of the Detroit Tigers. They moved above .500 for the first time this season during this streak now sitting at 26-21. This gives you an idea of how good Detroit has been this year where a team wins thirteen in a row and still only picks up about a game and a half on the division leader.
The Twins will now look to start a new streak tonight back at home against the Cleveland Guardians at 6:40 PM CT, and you can listen live on KGFX 1060 AM or on 103.1 FM in the Pierre area.
