The Fort Pierre City Council is holding a special meeting today (June 9, 2025) at 4pm CT in the Commission Room at the Stanley County Courthouse. They will be discussing an expansion study for the Oglala Sioux Rural Water Supply System (OSRWSS) Water Treatment Plant.
The meeting is open to the public.
May 30, 2025:
After being torn up multiple times over the past few years, a portion of Waldron Street in Fort Pierre is getting closer to getting fixed and repaved.
Mayor Gloria Hanson says the Bureau of Reclamation and Mni Wiconi have had to fix a series of leaks in the pipeline that runs under the street. She says the repairs will be done in phases.
Hanson says maps with more information are available at the Fort Pierre City Office located in the Stanley County Courthouse.
Hanson says the Oglala Sioux Rural Water Supply System estimates that the work to replace the main water pipeline under Waldron Street will continue into December.
