The City of Fort Pierre reminds residents they need to move all types of boats, campers and recreational vehicles off of public roadways/rights-of-way by Friday (Nov. 14, 2025).
City ordinance says from November 15 of the current year until March 15 of the following year, those types of vehicles cannot be parked on streets for a continuous period of more than 24 hours. Any vehicle in direct violation of this ordinance shall be fined $25 and the actual cost of removal and towing, if not removed within 24 hours of citation.
Also, Fort Pierre ordinances state that “there shall be no parking on the emergency snow routes when there is more than two (2) inches of snowfall until the said routes have been cleared to the edges of the street.” Any vehicle in direct violation of this ordinance shall be fined $50 and the actual cost of removal and towing, if not removed within 24 hours of citation.
