PIERRE, S.D. – After a slow start, the Pierre Governors their rhythm in the second half to outpace Aberdeen Central Tuesday night, 53-31. Leading 19-11 at the break, the Govs erupted for a 22-6 run through the third period, including scoring 19 consecutive points, to break the game open. Corde Austin scored 19 of his game-high 22 points in the second half, while Caiden Ahartz added a season-high 14 in the win. Cooper Terwilliger was dominant in the middle as he registered a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Luke Swanson scored nine in the loss, as the Golden Eagles dropped their seventh straight to fall to 1-10 on the season. Aberdeen will welcome Sioux Falls Washington for a home game Thursday while the Governors (4-7) will take a weekend trip to the Metro, with games at Harrisburg Friday night and O’Gorman in Sioux Falls Saturday afternoon.
