TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie and her sister returned to their mother’s home outside Tucson in their first sighting at the house since Nancy Guthrie went missing a month ago. The NBC anchor, her sister Annie Guthrie and brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni walked arm-in-arm down the driveway and laid yellow flowers in a makeshift tribute to the 84-year-old at the edge of the street. Nancy Guthrie’s children had previously appeared in videos in which they pleaded for their mother’s return. She was last seen at her home Jan. 31, 2026. Authorities believe she was kidnapped, abducted or otherwise taken against her will.

PHOENIX (AP) — The no-parking zone around the home of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother where journalists and social media streamers have stationed themselves over the past three weeks since her disappearance is being widened. The change is being made in response to complaints from neighbors about congested roads, trespassing and trash left along roadways. County officials say an effort over the weekend to have one-way traffic flow on the road in front of Nancy Guthrie’s house hasn’t worked as they hoped. Authorities say journalists and streamers can still have access to the area, but they will have to park elsewhere and get dropped off in the neighborhood.

The FBI says a glove containing DNA was found about two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home and appears to match those worn by a masked person outside her front door the night she vanished. The glove, found in a field near the side of the road, was sent off for DNA testing. The discovery was revealed days after investigators had released surveillance videos of the masked person outside Guthrie’s front door in Tucson. Guthrie is the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie and was last seen at her home on Jan. 31. Purported ransom notes were sent to news outlets, but two deadlines for paying have passed.
Feb. 11, 2026:
RIO RICO, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities investigating the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie detained a man in Arizona who says he was questioned for hours Tuesday night (Feb. 10, 2026) before being released. The man told several media outlets that he had nothing to do with last week’s disappearance of Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie. The development came just hours after the FBI released images of a masked person on Nancy Guthrie’s porch the night she went missing near Tucson. Authorities have not said what led them to stop the man and had not confirm he was released. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says it also searched a location Tuesday night in a city where the man lives near the U.S.-Mexico border.
Feb. 6, 2026:
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The family of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie is renewing their plea for their mother’s kidnapper to contact them. Guthrie’s brother, Camron, posted a second plea on social media Thursday (Feb. 5, 2026) on behalf of the family. The message came hours after Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said investigators don’t have proof 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie is alive but believe “she’s still out there.” Nanos says authorities have not identified any suspects or persons of interest five days into the desperate search. Investigators say they are taking seriously notes seeking ransom that were sent to some media outlets.
