The South Dakota Advisory Task Force Committee on Open Meetings Laws will meet Tuesday (April 7, 2026) at 10 a.m. CST in Pierre.
The task force was created by Attorney General Marty Jackley to consider possible changes to the state’s Open Meeting Laws. There are 15 members on the advisory task force representing local government, news media and private organizations.
The Advisory Task Force Committee on Open Meetings Laws is separate from the South Dakota’s Open Meetings Commission. The Commission, consisting of five states attorneys, was established in 2004 to review and address alleged violations of the state’s open meetings laws.
