PIERRE – A Jett Zabel shutout in the first game and big offense in the second game led the Pierre Governors to a doubleheader sweep of O’Gorman Friday at Hyde Stadium, 4-0 and 13-4.
In game 1, Zabel pitched a five-hitter with 11 strikeouts. Lincoln Kienholz doubled in a run in a three-run first inning for the Governors (10-8), with two other runs scoring on an error. Brecken Krueger had an RBI groundout in the fourth.
Cade Kaiser went three-for-three in the second game with a single, double, triple and five RBI. Jayden Wiebe had a two-run double and Jonny Lyons also drove in two runs. Gary Nedved was the winning pitcher, striking out five in three and two-thirds innings.
