WINNER – West Central broke a 5-5 tie with 17 runs in the last three innings Sunday to defeat the Mobridge Teeners 22-8 in the third-place game of the VFU 14U state tournament at the Leahy Bowl.
Kyson Goodshield was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to tie the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the fourth. West Central then rallied for two runs in the fifth inning and 10 in the sixth. After Mobridge scored three runs in the sixth, West Central scored five more runs in the seventh.
Andrew Ulmer, Kellen Pftizer, Gracie Faehnrich and Peter Fried also drove in runs for the Teeners.
