The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks has extended the submission deadline for entrepreneurs interested in operating the restaurant and convenience store at Spring Creek Recreation Area north of Pierre.
Proposals are now due April 6 by 8 a.m. CT. Interested parties can submit proposals for either opportunity separately or together.
Spring Creek is adjacent to Cow Creek Recreation Area. The two parks combined welcome the third most visitors in the state park system, seeing over 405,000 visitors in 2019. The parks, located approximately 20 miles north of Pierre, feature a marina, boat ramps, fishing cleaning stations, a variety of modern cabin lodging and camping.
The restaurant is move-in ready, featuring a full kitchen, bar, special event room, walk-in cooler, tables, chairs and more. The restaurant includes an on-sale liquor license.
The convenience store facilities include shelves, peg boards, ice chest, walk-in cooler, bait tanks and more. The opportunity also includes on-shore and on-the-water fuel pumps, as well as fuel storage tanks.
Both prospectuses can be downloaded from Spring Creekâs webpage on gfp.sd.gov or by contacting the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks at 605.773.3391.
