Donald Carroll, 53, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Spirit Lake, Iowa while doing what he loved. There will be a Celebration of Life in the Harrold auditorium on Thursday, August 25th at 2:00 P.M.
Donald Dean Carroll was born on March 22, 1969 to Melvin and Katherine (Zilverberg) Carroll in Miller, SD. He grew up on the family farm in Harold, SD and graduated from Harold High School in 1988. He got his AI certification in Wessington Springs, SD in the early 1990s.
Through the years, Don, his dad and brothers did custom farm work on their own farm and others in the area to optimize the success of their farms. Don very much enjoyed his life on the farm, but he also loved visiting with friends in town. He cherished the outdoors and was a fisherman, hunter, and more recently got into scuba diving.
Don is survived by his two brothers, Daniel (Lana) Carroll of Harrold, and Duaine (Shelley) Carroll of Fort Pierre, nieces and nephews: Stephen Poppen, Cody Poppen, Julian (Falon) Sheard, Ramsey (Kylie) Sheard, Jade (Adam) Crowley, Rider (Talyn) Sheard, and “grandkids” Juliet, Romee, Zayden, Brayson, and Karsyn.
