Jerry G. Hauck, 81, of Gettysburg, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, at Avera Oahe Manor, Gettysburg.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2022, at the United Methodist Church, Gettysburg, with Pastor Jeff Adel presiding. Burial will follow in the German Zion Cemetery, Tolstoy. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service.
Jerry Gene Hauck, was born to Harry and Mary (Roesch) Hauck on February 25, 1941, in Aberdeen, SD. He attended elementary school in Tolstoy and graduated from Hoven High School in 1959.
On October 7, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Rolleen Buechler. Jerry lived in Potter County his whole life. He farmed for 25 years south of Tolstoy, then in 1986 went to work for Potter County Coop in Gettysburg working as a bulk salesman for 25 years. Jerry also worked for Vilas Pharmacy and Larry Poeppel.
Jerry served on the Tolstoy School Board, Tolstoy Fire Department, and NFO Offices in Tolstoy. He also served on the Potter County Fair Board and was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Jerry served on many church boards, as an usher, and sang in the choir.
He loved horse playdays with his children and friends. He enjoyed his ’59 Chevy and attending car shows with his wife, Rolleen. Jerry lived for his God, family, and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rolleen of Gettysburg; son, Ron (Kris) of Pierre; granddaughters, Rylee (Brent) O’Neal of Sioux Falls and Haylee Hauck (Wade Kroetch) of Spearfish; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bernel and Ramona Stanky of Bath; and several nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children: Russell and Lisa; brother, Don (Rosie) and niece, Kathy Liedholt.
