Larry Aman, 76, of Mobridge passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Avera Eureka Health Care Center. Arrangements are pending with Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Larry Dale Aman was the baby of 8 children born to Gustave & Mary (Friez) Aman on March 7, 1946.
Larry grew up on the family farm north of McLaughlin. He attended schools in McLaughlin & Aberdeen. In 1963, Larry joined the US Navy, serving on the USS Yorktown and was honorably discharged in 1966. Upon his return home, he met the love of his life, Darlene Landis & they were married in Selfridge on December 28, 1967. After their union, they moved to Long Beach, California where Larry attended Barber School, while in California their son Dana was born. In 1969 they moved their young family to Fargo, ND where Larry graduated from Barber School & worked. In 1971 they moved to Mobridge and made it their home where Larry found work as a barber for a while before getting a job with UPS. While making Mobridge their home, their son Jason was born.
Larry spent the majority of his life working hard, but also found the time to “play”- enjoying fishing & hunting & family camping trips. When he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, you could find him at the kitchen table playing cards or at the pool hall playing a few games.
Larry retired from UPS in 2002 after receiving an award for 31 years of a safe driving record. He was also a member of the Moose for 40 years as well as a member of the Legion.
In recent years his health began to fail, and he had to slow down. The end of September Larry moved to Avera Eureka Health Care Center & remained there until he peacefully passed the morning of Saturday, October 15, 2022.
