Patricia Irene Williamson was born October 22, 1928 to Lorene (Stuart) and Lawrence Williamson. She attended school in Blunt, SD and other rural schools in the area. She graduated from Onida High School in 1945. She met the love of her life Russell Bryce Buchholz and began her journey as a rancher’s wife.
Pat was a true homemaker and enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, drawing and helping Bryce when she could.
When their children Terry and Kathy were in school, she began taking correspondence courses to begin her dream of being a teacher. She then started going to summer school at Northern in Aberdeen, SD. Her dream was realized as she received her teaching certificate and taught rural schools in Sully County. Some of those schools included Prairie View, Richvalley and East Cora. When Terry was a senior at Black Hills State, Pat took the year away from teaching and enrolled at Black Hills State also. They graduated together that year with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
In 1972 they sold their ranch and moved to the Hot Springs area. Bryce continued raising quarter horses and Pat taught school. She loved teaching and loved her students, doing everything she could to help them succeed in life.
Pat enjoyed trips to Australia, Hawaii and England. Pat eventually moved to Pierre, SD to be closer to family. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.
Pat is survived by daughter Kathy Sprinkel of Pierre, SD, granddaughter Audra Bourk and her fiancé Jeff Chaput of Langdon, ND, grandson Jess (Sonia) Bourk, their children Avery & Bryce of Highmore, SD, Kia (Brandon) Rieger and girls of Pierre, SD, her sister Marilyn Bauer and niece Susan Bauer of Piedmont, SD and numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by husband Bryce, son Terry and his wife Karen and her parents and grandparents.
