PIERRE – Pierre Governor Girls Basketball attacked from the start Tuesday, running past a struggling Douglas team 61-19 at the Riggs High Gym.
Pierre (8-1) led 24-6 after one quarter and 49-14 at half while forcing numerous Douglas miscues and turning them into transition baskets. Governor starters played into the middle of the third quarter and the running clock rule was in place for the entire second half.
Reese Terwilliger, scoring in double figures for the sixth time in nine games this season, led the Governors with 15 points and six rebounds. Remington Price had two three-pointers and 13 points. Sydney Tedrow scored nine and Lennix DuPris had eight.
Keana Walton led Douglas (1-8) with six points.
