YANKTON – Another close game led to another close loss Thursday for the Pierre Governors.
Rugby Ryken hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 1:32 left, and the Yankton Bucks held on for a 56-51 win over Pierre at the Summit Center.
Pierre (8-6) had two chances following Ryken’s bucket on offense, but committed two turnovers.
Drew Ryken drilled six three-pointers and scored 26 points for Yankton (7-4). Cody Oswald had 10. Rugby Ryken scored eight.
Jackson Edman scored 15 points with 10 rebounds for Pierre. Carson Ahartz scored 10, with two three-pointers. Lincoln Kienholz scored nine.
Pierre was held to eight points and only one field goal in the fourth quarter in their fourth loss in the last six games. Those four losses have been by a combined margin of 12 points.
