Funeral services for Betty Justice, 93, of Thornton, CO formerly of Chamberlain will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at St. James Catholic Church in Chamberlain, SD with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain, SD.

Betty R. Delany was born to Allen and Ruth (Waddell) Delany at Bijou Hills, SD.  She attended school in Charles Mix County and graduated from Kimball High School.  After high school, Betty attended the South Dakota Cosmetology School in Sioux Falls, SD.  She moved to Chamberlain and worked at Helen’s Beauty Salon before moving to California to work in her sister’s beauty shop.  After two years in California, Betty returned to South Dakota where she owned and operated her own salon in Pickstown, SD.  She then moved to Pierre and worked as a beautician there before coming back to Chamberlain to work at Helen’s Beauty Salon for over 50 years.  On April 12, 1951 Betty was united in marriage to Maynard F. Justice at Chamberlain.  Together they made their home in Chamberlain for many years.  Maynard passed away on August 24, 2009 and Betty continued to reside in Chamberlain until 2011 when she moved to Thornton, CO to be near her daughter.

Betty passed away on February 13, 2023 at Park Regency Assisted Living in Thornton, CO at the age of 93 years.

Gratefully sharing in her life are her daughter Carla Weible and husband Michael of Denver, CO; two grandsons Alex and Chase Weible; and a sister Alvena Stoll of Chamberlain.  Preceding her in death were her husband Maynard, her parents, five sisters Margaret, Adeline, Grace, Iola & Nellie (infant); and three brothers. Bob, Albert & Ben.
