Ernestine “Tina” Hyde, 71, of Onida, SD, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre.

Tina was born August 16, 1951 to Merle (Dolphus) and Ernest Laundreaux on the Cheyenne Agency. She grew up at Agar, SD. After graduating from Agar High School, Tina attended Stewarts School of Hair Styling in Aberdeen. She was married to Stewart Hyde and they made their home in Onida. They completed their family with a son Shane and a daughter Elana. She is remembered for her years working at the Vanity Beauty Shop and for operating Stu’s Bar and Grill, with her husband, before becoming the school custodian for more than two decades.
Tina liked to keep up on all of the high school sports and all the happenings on Facebook. She also enjoyed reading, planting flowers, working in her garden, canning and cooking for her family. Tina especially loved spending time with her grandkids, nieces and nephews.
Tina is survived by her husband Stewart, her son Shane (Shelly) and her daughter Elana (Tanner) Norman, 6 grandchildren: Shianne, Chris, Tara, Paige, Colt and Camryn, and 6 great grandchildren, her brother Don (Rita) Laundreaux, brother-in-law Larry Merrill, her brothers and sisters-in-law: Clarie (Doug) Marsh, Judy (Dick) Hansen, Jack (Vicki) Garrigan, Charlene (Todd) Bietz, Bob Joachim, numerous nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carol Merrill, her in-laws Clara and Stewart Hyde, sister-in-law Sis Joachim, and brother-in-law Jerry Garrigan.
