Elijah J. Morrison, 32, of Bridger, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, in Bridger, SD.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MDT, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Bridger Community Center.
Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m., at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis. A procession will take
place from Hwy 34 and Bridger Road at 9:00 a.m.
Elijah James Morrison was born in Pine Ridge, SD to Connie Blue Legs and Clifford “Tuffy”
Morrison Jr. on September 14, 1990. Elijah attended Interior School, Interior, SD and Takini
School, Takini, SD, until his graduation in May of 2009.
On June 2, 2009, he joined the US Army, serving for three years. Elijah was deployment to Iraq,
and he turned 21 years old while he was there. Elijah received the following decorations: Iraq
campaign medal with two campaign stars; National Defense Medal with two campaign stars;
National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon
and Overseas Service Ribbon. After his Honorable Discharge, he attended Western Dakota
Technical College, working towards an auto tech degree.
Elijah left behind his beloved family, including his God-parents: Uncle Vernell White Thunder
and Auntie Sibyl Lone Eagle; four beloved children: Eli, Ella, Tuffy, and Trey Morrison of
Bridger, SD; mother: Connie Blue Legs of Bridger, SD; brother: Konan Morrison of Bridger,
SD; sisters: Sara Morrison of Bridger, SD and Elissa (Louis) Morrison of Rapid City, SD;
grandparents: Patty and Kelly Fortune of Interior, SD; nieces: Cheyenne Miner, Tate Omani
Win Johnson, Emilia Whirlwind Horse, McKenzie Morrison, and Audrey Hunts Horse;
nephews: Jaxon Morrison, Louis Whirlwind Horse V, Jasper Whirlwind Horse, Akicita Cook,
Nathan and Dillion Reynolds, Matthew Morrison, Hoksila Morrison, Joe May Jr., and Maza
Hunts Horse; cousins: Christina Hunts Horse, Ginger Lone Eagle, LaQuan Belt, Dawson Blue
Arm, and Alika Belt; uncle: Brent Belt (Teri); auntie: Teresa Gomez; and his two best friends:
Adam Brown and Clinton Holy.
Welcoming him home were his maternal grandparents: Celeste Belt, Emil Blue Legs, and Zouie
Lone Eagle; paternal grandparents: Clifford Morrison Sr. and Eliza Good Voice Elk-Morrison;
father: Clifford “Tuffy” Morrison Jr; sister: SSGT Charla Morrison-Reynolds; cousins: Bronco
J. Hunts Horse, Carrie Lone Eagle, and Wyatt Belt; uncles: Sylvester Blue Legs and Al Lone
Eagle.
