The Pierre School Board has put together a list of goals for the district for the upcoming school year.
Board President Dan Cronin says they came up with six areas to focus on, one of which is teaching and learning.
Student persistence is another goal.
Cronin says attendance is new area the Pierre School Board will focus on this coming year.
Cronin says the school safety goal covers more than locked doors and restricted access to district buildings.
Cronin says strengthening the school’s partnerships with parents and the community and the recruitment and retention of staff are the other two goals.
