SPEARFISH – For the Oahe Zap, the struggle continues.
The Zap were swept out of an Independence League Baseball doubleheader Thursday by Spearfish 4-0 and 13-3 at Black Hills Energy Stadium.
Graham Young pitched a complete game in the opener, allowing just three hits, but the Zap had only five hits themselves, including two each by Jackson Mix and Gavin Starcher.
In game 2, Spearfish scored 11 runs in the first two innings to take an 11-3 lead. Abel Anzaldua lost for the Zap (3-20), giving up seven runs and five hits in only an inning and a third. Carson Trumpold and John Patty had run-scoring singles in the second inning, when Oahe scored all its runs. Tyler Hoffman also walked with the bases full.
