Leona Mae Buhler, 95, of Norway, MI and formerly of Pierre, SD, died Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Evergreen Meadows Assisted Living in Norway.
Funeral service will be 2:30pm on Friday, June 30, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Pierre with a visitation for one-hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Pierre.
Leona Mae Watson was born on January 9, 1928 in Vermilion, SD to George and Alfretta (Moreau) Watson.
Leona was united in marriage to Merle Buhler on December 23, 1950 in Vermilion, SD. They moved to Pierre in 1960. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pierre and Eastern Star.
Leona is survived by her two children, Cheri (Dean) Pyncheon of Quinnesec, MI and John (Lorre) Buhler of Rapid City, SD; five grandchildren, JD (Emily) Pyncheon of Milwaukee, WI, Hannah (Jake) Richmond of Blainwell, Michigan, Blair (Joel) Bice of Rapid City, SD, Kate (Jayme) Hipple of Rapid City, SD and Aric (Hannah England) Buhler of Rapid City, SD and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle Buhler; two brothers, George “Wally” Watson and William “Billy” Watson; two sisters, Lavern Lake and La Rena Morse.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed hospice.
