Daniel L. “Dan” McGee, 63, of Chamberlain, SD passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Dan was born February 14, 1960 to Donald and Ruby () McGee at Wessington Springs, SD. He attended school in Chamberlain. During his working years, he was employed at Smith Salvage Yard, Schoeppner Shows Carnival, Al’s Oasis, and the Anchor Grille. As Dan developed major medical concerns, he was aided in navigating those changes by the assistance of Dakota Milestones. Those changes enabled Dan to spend many more years with loved ones.
Dan was a helping hand in the technical sense with various mechanics and electrical concerns. He was also a helping hand through how much he cared for those around him. Dan was enthusiastic about all his fix’em up projects whether it be a personal project for himself or others.
Dan has always enjoyed building model cars and planes although once his vision got to a point of impairment he turned to Hot Wheels and Match Box cars building a massive collection and had always been adding more.
Dan brought light to the world for other people to enjoy. Dan had a great passion for always putting on a wonderful Christmas display.
Gratefully sharing his life are his siblings: Judy King, Lori McGee, Kenneth McGee, and Dennis McGee; nieces and nephews James McGee, John McGee, Jason McGee, Jeff McGee, Jenzima Huber, Kaleena Kaiser, Korth McGee, Alisse VanRooyen, Jayden Van Rooyen, and Addison VanRooyen; along with many great nieces and nephews; a great nephews in particular Jaxon McGee and Sonnee Free River.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Roger, and sister Jeanie Marie.
