PIERRE – Trenton Duchscherer hit a game-winning two-run single to cap a four-run seventh inning Saturday to give the Oahe Zap a 6-5 win over the Spearfish Sasquatch in the second game of a doubleheader at Hyde Stadium. The first was the completion of a game suspended by rain on June 4, and Spearfish earned a 7-0 win.
Game 1 – Spearfish 7, Oahe 0 (completion of June 4 suspended game)
In the completion of an earlier rainout, the Sasquatch scored all their runs in the fifth inning. DJ Van Atten hit a two-run single during the big inning. Brandon Villabrille took the loss for the Zap.
Game 2 – Oahe 6, Spearfish 5
Before Duchscherer’s game-winning hit for the Zap (5-21), two runs scored on wild pitches. Four walk helped the Zap’s winning rally. Andrew Beavers hit a two-run fourth-inning home run. Brady Glenn earned the win in relief.
