Memorial services for Wayne Anderson, 70, of Mobridge will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 31, 2023, at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Wayne passed away, Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Wayne Anderson, 70, of Mobridge passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023. Wayne was born at Brookings Hospital on October 28, 1952, to Stella (Leisinger) and Orvin Anderson. He grew up in White, South Dakota.
As a young boy, he was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, White, South Dakota. He was a boy scout and showed sheep in 4-H. Wayne graduated from Deubrook High School at White, South Dakota in the class of 1971. On July 23, 1972 he graduated from Lake Area Technical School in Watertown for Auto Mechanics.
On July 15, 1972, Wayne was united in marriage to Betty Sandal at Tabor Lutheran Church, rural Webster, South Dakota. They lived in Watertown, South Dakota before moving to Claire City, South Dakota where Wayne was employed at GTA Grain Elevator, driving feed truck, making deliveries. While there he was a volunteer fireman and bowled in Lidgerwood, North Dakota.
In December 1981, Wayne moved his family to Mobridge. He worked on road construction, cattle hauling, and at Bridge City Bait Shop. HE then drove truck for Mardian’s, Timm’s and Malsam’s before becoming a full-time dispatcher for East River Lumber and Grain. In later years, Wayne dispatched loads for CMT, West Fargo, North Dakota and most recently Four Winds Trucking in Mandan, North Dakota.
In his early years, he loved to deer, antelope and pheasant hunt. He belonged to a bowling league in Mobridge. He enjoyed being the “PR” guy for our bird cleaning business and yes, Miracle Gro was his best friend in the garden.
Fishing was his favorite past-time with his family. His fishing trip to Canada with his friends, Mick, Dave and Lyle was one of his most memorable times. He was a Moose member and belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Tony (Shyla) and Lance; daughter, Dana; and grandchildren, Bethany, Emily, Trishtyn, Mattiaus (Jasmine) and his best little buddy, Dacian, also a great-grandson, Mateo.
Preceeding Wayne in death were his parents, Orvin and Stella, half-brother Darold, and son Robert.
