PIERRE – Drama went the way of the Oahe Zap Wednesday.
A dropped third strike on what would have been the game’s final out instead led to the tying and winning runs scoring for the Zap in a 5-4 win over the Casper Spuds at Hyde Stadium.
Jacob Trusner struck out, but the ball was missed by Casper catcher Parker Burt, allowing both Kyle Memarian and Jackson Heck to score, cap a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth and end Oahe’s eight-game losing streak.
Trevor Segraves had hit a sacrifice fly earlier in the inning to cut the Casper lead to 4-3.
Memarian and Jackson Mix also drove in runs for the Zap (15-37).
Brady Glenn earned the win in relief with three scoreless innings.
