PIERRE – The top-ranked team in AA volleyball returned home with a win on Tuesday, but not before being given a stout effort by the Pierre Governors.
Harrisburg escaped the Riggs High Gym with a straight-set win over Pierre, 28-26, 25-20, 25-13.
The Tigers (17-0) rallied from six points down to win the first set, then trailed 20-19 before scoring the last six points to win the second set before controlling the third.
Gabi Zachariasen had 16 kills and three aces to lead Harrisburg. Kennedy Kokenge added nine kills and an ace.
For Pierre (8-6), Campbell Boddicker had nine kills. Abby Kropp scored eight kills and a block. Reese Terwilliger had seven kills, an ace, and a block.
Pierre now has lost four straight matches, the program’s longest losing streak since 2020.
