Fort Pierre 2023 tax revenues increase over 2022

Tax collections in all three major categories were up for the City of Fort Pierre in 2023.

City Finance Officer Roxanne Heezen says the general sales tax revenue was up about 13.5%.

Heezen says “triple B”– or bed, board and booze– tax revenues rose a little over 6%.

Heezen says occupancy tax collections brought in about half-a-percent (0.59%) more than in 2022.
