PIERRE, S.D. – Two Pierre Trappers hurlers shutout the Hub City Hot Shots on Wednesday night as the Trappers recorded a 7-0 Expedition League win at Hyde Stadium playing before an announced crowd of 575. Conner McDonald made his return to the Trappers by pitching 7.2 innings of shut out ball to earn the win. He allowed 5 hits. Zane Phelps homered for the 10th time this year and drove in his Expedition League leading 49 RBI. Pierre outhit Hub City 6-5 with four of the six hits for extra bases. Trevyn Wells started but lasted just 3 innings for Hub City as the Trappers sweep the brief two game series but remain a game and half behind the Badlands Big Sticks for the second half division lead in the drive for the playoffs. Pierre opens up a 4 game series with the Spearfish Sasquatch tonight at Hyde Stadium. Game time is 7:05 pm.
