PIERRE, SD – Sharon Caldwell, 81, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024 holding her husband’s hand at her home outside of Ft. Pierre.
A celebration of life service will be 7:00pm on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Isburg Funeral Chapel in Pierre.
Sharon Caldwell was born May 8th, 1942, to Ray and Eleanor (Wendling) Kilian, and was raised in the Hoven and Pierre area. After graduation from Riggs High School in Pierre South Dakota, she married the true love of her life. Together they lived twenty six miles out of Fort Pierre, where for almost 62 years she was a loving rancher’s wife.
Sharon met the love of her life, Clinton Caldwell, at Coast to Coast. They married in February of 1963 and had three children Connie Dammann, Thad Caldwell and Tammie Peterson.
She enjoyed working on the Ranch, attending every sporting event and concert of her children and after that her grandchildren. She had many fond memories of watching her husband play baseball and kept score at many of his games. She also had many fond memories of all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren coming out and visiting her. She was always up for hugs and kisses and could often find her rocking the great grandchildren to sleep.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Clinton; her children, Connie (Kirk) Dammann, Thad (Tracey) Caldwell, and Tammie (Joel) Peterson; grandchildren, Travis (JoElle) Dammann, Kaelyn (Cade) Dawn, Jace Caldwell, Jordan (Megan) Peterson, and Dylan (Macy) Peterson; great grandchildren, Samson Dammann, Kieran Dammann, Charlie Dawn, Barrett Dawn, and Coulter Peterson. Her three sisters Marlynrae Mathews, Ida (Ross) Henrichsen, and Eileen Duff.
She is preceded in in death by her parents Ray and Eleanor, mother-in-law and father-in-law Helen and Leslie Caldwell, a sister Betty Walinski, as well as many brother in-laws, aunts, and uncles.
Please join us in remembering Sharon Caldwell; a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.
