BIG BEND, SD – Emma Jean Touche, 26, of Big Bend, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Pierre.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at St. Catherine’s Church at Big Bend. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Stephan. Wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2024, at St. Catherine’s Church at Big Bend. A procession will form to escort Emma home at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2024, from Luze Funeral Home in Highmore.
Emma Jean Touche was born April 8, 1998, in Pierre at St Mary’s Avera Hospital to Donna Marie Touche and Tony Big Eagle. She passed away on her birthday in that same hospital.
Growing up Emma was very energetic, shy, and helpful. She was always playing but didn’t have many friends besides her siblings. She always wanted to be around her big sister Amber but was told no. So, she would tattle on Amber and get her in trouble every chance she got. She liked to help her mom in the kitchen when she was cooking. She enjoyed dressing up, playing Barbies and playing cars with her brother. She graduated Head Start in Pierre. Attended and graduated kindergarten in Harrold. She graduated 8th grade in Highmore-Harrold.
On August 8, 2016, she had her only son Felix James Touche. She loved listening to music and dancing with her son! They spent most of their days at home cuddling and watching movies. Usually, the same one over and over again because Felix is autistic and very particular about his movies. She was always taking selfies. She enjoyed going hunting with her dad a lot. Any chance to go for a cruise she took it. She was a great mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and babysitter. If you knew Emma you know she was kind to an extent, had a very outgoing personality, and that she loved her nieces and nephews so much!
She leaves behind her son, Felix James Touche; mother, Donna Touche; nephew, TJ of Fort Thompson, SD; father, Tony Big Eagle of Big Bend, SD; brother, Anthony Touche; sister in-law, Lonice; nephews: Dowansa and Wambdi of Pierre, SD; sister, Amber Touche; niece, Aubrie Rank; nephews: CJ Mills, Chevy Rank, Kris-Lee Rank of Pierre, SD; sister, Jodi Dunn; niece, Malia; nephew, Dallas of Big Bend, SD;, brother, Matt Dunn of Big Bend, SD; sister, Latony Big Eagle of Pierre, SD; sister, Joei St John; niece, Kiko Love of Rapid City, SD; grandfather, Paul Touche, Bismarck, ND; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
