Linda “Lynn” Merkel of Mobridge, South Dakota
March 11, 1958 – April 29, 2024
Memorial services for Linda “Lynn” Merkel, 66, of Mobridge will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 11:00 am at Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Lynn passed away, Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital. Inurnment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
Linda Lee (Lynn) Logan was born March 11, 1958, to Harry and Katherine Logan in Riverton, Wyoming. She was the only child born to this union.
She lived in Riverton, attending grade school and graduated from Riverton High School. When her parents retired to Mobridge, Lynn was in her early twenties and after a while, she followed them to Mobridge where she got a job as a waitress at the Silver Grill. That was when she met Keith Merkel. They were married on July 15, 1983. They made their home in Mobridge. Lynn worked for many years at the Wrangler Motor Inn as a night desk clerk. For the past 17 years, she has worked at the Grand River Casino where she was currently floor supervisor.
Lynn was a huge animal lover and they have had many cats and dogs over the years. Lynn was also very computer savvy. She had a computer long before anybody that I knew.
Lynn leaves behind her husband, Keith of nearly 41 years, her brother Jim Madison and his wife Joyce and nephew, Josh Madison, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen Godkin, Kevin Merkel, Kristi and Dean Howard along with niece and nephew Kayela and Ryan Howard. She also leaves two aunts Marian Selzler and Jean Selzler and many cousins.
Lynn was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, Harry and Katherine, nephew, Casey Madison, brother-in-law, Rory Godkin and sister-in-law, Becky Merkel.
