Connie Johnson has been selected as the Stanley County Schools 2023- 2024 Teacher of the Year.
She was presented with the award Wednesday (May 8, 2024) by Superintendent Dan Baldwin.
Mrs. Johnson teaches kindergarten through grade 8 at Cheyenne Rural School and has been with SC for 25 years. Johnson’s impressive character qualities are her patience, kindness, encouragement, and confidence building to nurture a love of learning. She hosts annual community Halloween and Christmas parties with student-led programs. She ensures that teaching many grades expands all students’ learning. Her first-grade students were proud to recite the county names and seats from memory this school year.
