MAY 28, 2024:
A 63-year-old woman from Midland died Friday afternoon (May 24, 2024, 1pm) in a single vehicle accident in Stanley County.
Preliminary crash information indicates Barb Stoeser was the driver of a 2005 Ford Taurus that was southbound on War Creek Road 13 miles south of Fort Pierre. For an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway, entered the east ditch, rolled multiple times and came to rest on its passenger side.
Stoeser died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
