Nora Little Shield, 55, of Cherry Creek, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Cheyenne River Health Center, Eagle Butte.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. MDT, Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Cherry Creek Gym, Cherry Creek. Burial will follow in Congregational Cemetery, Cherry Creek. A wake service will be 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the gym with a procession from the 2-Mile hill east of town at 4:00 p.m.

Nora Faye Little Shield was born on September 8, 1968, to Theophile and Myrtle (Hale) Little Shield at Cherry Creek, SD. She loved to ride horses, listen to music, and be with her family. Nora raised her grandchildren: Levi Taken Alive and Tiffany Little Shield. She usually had her favorite dog, “Diamond”, by her side.

Nora is survived by her sisters: Marilyn Runs After, Arlene Demery, Valtina and June Little Shield, all of Cherry Creek; brothers: Steven, Clyde, Norman, and Narlin Little Shield and Sylvester Waloke all of Cherry Creek; many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her and will miss her; and many extended family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Theophile and Myrtle Little Shield; sisters, Mary Ann Taken Alive and Judy Little Shield; brothers: Morris, Theodore, Nathaniel, and Andrew Little Shield; granddaughters, Heavenly Clown and Marlene Fire Cloud; grandson, Roman Iron Bird; nieces: Shantoya Little Shield, Mary Lou Taken Alive, Inez Taken Alive, Nancy Little Shield, and LeeAnn Little Shield; nephews: Freddy Taken Alive, Shane Little Shield, Shawn Taken Alive, and Tayson Little Shield; and many cousins and other relatives.

Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Nora’s arrangements.
