The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to terms with their head coach, Chris Finch, on a contract extension yesterday. Per Adrian Wojnarowski, the Timberwolves and Finch have agreed to a 4-year extension through the 2027-’28 campaign. Finch has made the postseason three straight years with the Timberwolves, including their run to the Western Conference Finals last year.
With their young talent making a huge mark on the league, the Timberwolves front office wanted to lock in Finch as they feel poised to be a title contender for years to come. And Finch is as tough of a coach as he is smart. If you remember, Finch was involved in a collision near the bench during the 2024 playoffs to which he suffered a torn patellar tendon. The tear required surgery, but Finch was back on the bench for Game 1 against Denver even though he could not stand nor walk. Finch is 160-127 as the Timberwolves head coach since taking over in the middle of the 2020-’21 season. He currently ranks second all-time in wins among Minnesota head coaches.
