Mass of Christian Burial for Patina “Rosey” Brown, 31, of Mandan, will be at 11 AM, CT, August 13, 2024 at the Kenel Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A procession will leave the funeral home at 4 PM Monday for a prayer service at 7 PM at the church. Rosey passed away August 2, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.

We’d like to celebrate the life of Patina “Rosey” Brown who was so full of life and light. She grew up in Kenel, SD, with her grandparents (Aleta Martin and Ronald Free Sr). She received her baptism and first communion at the Catholic Church. She then spent her days with her son, Noah, and nephew, Brayden in Mandan, ND, where she resided with her special someone, Jade Marshall, whom she loved dearly! She also loved her brother, Kaelon Brown, and sister, Brittany Free, who she grew up with since they were kids.

She loved her family and friends and went above and beyond for them. She cared so much for everyone. She loved to spend time on walks with her two dogs (Meiko and Winston), her son and nephew. She enjoyed working at UTTC as a security guard and going to school there, majoring in Criminal Justice. Rosey was going to be starting work at the North Dakota State Penitentiary. She was looking forward to that. Rosey was excited to see her two sons graduate high school. She will be missed by many. We are so grateful to have been a part of her life.

Rosey is survived by her significant other/partner/spouse who played a huge part in her life, Jade Marshall, son, Noah Marshall, nephew/son, Brayden Brown, nephew, Desmond Steele, mother, Patricia Brown, brother, Kaelon Brown, sisters, Carol Free, Stacie Little Bear, Shana Left Hand, Kateri Brown, Megan Agard, and Hope Brown, brothers, William Left Hand and Andrew Brown, niece, Errickae Left Hand, cousins, Devon White, Randal White Jr., Savanah Guardipee, and Jonathan Howard, aunt, Marsha Goben friends, Kendra Essert, Sierrajen Essert, McKayla Gates, Kerry Zephier, Regan White Bull, and Landi Leingang, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Mark Free Sr., grandmothers, Aleta Martin and Joyce Hollow, grandfather, Ronald Free, aunt, Adele White, sister, Brittany Free, brothers, Mark Free and Derrick Brown, sisters, Camilla Brown and Saydee Brown.
