Funeral services for Marion Huseby, 80, of Wishek, North Dakota, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Peace Lutheran Church in Herreid. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the Church. Marion passed away, Thursday, August 28, 2024, at the Wishek Community Hospital.
Marion Fiechtner Huseby was born at her parent’s home in Lehr, North Dakota on January 6, 1944. Her parents were Jacob W. and Christina (Erbele) Fiechtner. Marion attended rural school and then Lehr High School for two years. She graduated from Wishek High School in 1962.
Marion was baptized in the Lutheran Faith. After marriage, Marion was involved in her church, St. Luke Lutheran in Wishek, North Dakota. She was the president of the Women of the Church for one year and treasurer of the AAL for six years. Marion also worked at the Wishek Hospital as a nurse’s aide after school and summers before graduations.
On January 6, 1963, she was married to Clinton Meidinger. They had five children together; Curtis, Cordell, and Jason and twin boys that were born stillborn. In 1994, they were divorced and Marion moved to Wishek. She worked at the Wishek Nursing Home.
On July 28, 1997, Marion married Henry (Hank) L. Huseby at the Candle Light Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Yuma, Arizona. Marion did volunteer work at Hank’s print shop, Yuma Printings. They had eight wonderful years together before Hank passed away on November 22, 2005.
On October 28, 2006, Marion moved to Herreid, South Dakota where she was employed for years at the local daycare. She loved watching the children. Marion served on the church council at the Peace Lutheran Church for two years.
Marion is survived by her children; Curtis and Peggy Meidinger of Zeeland, ND, Cordell and Heidi Meidinger of Herreid, SD and Jason and Justine Meidinger of Mandan, ND. Grandchildren, Tyler & Kate Meidinger, Trevor Meidinger, Devonia (Meidinger) and Victor Fischer, Tegan (Meidinger) and Scott Mann, LaMae (Meidinger) and Nathan Nixon, Pausha Meidinger, Gavin Meidinger, Caily, Lyndon, Reese, and Brenley Meidinger, Sidney Meidinger. Sister, Alice Janke, JoAnn Fiechtner (sister-in-law). Eighteen nephews and nieces. Great Grandchildren, Kinlee and Sutton Meidinger. God blessed her with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob W. and Christina Fiechtner, six brothers, Lloyd, Floyd, and Albert Fiechtner, Elmer Fiechtner, LeRoy (Lorraine) Fiechtner, Henry Fiechtner. Three sisters, Lorraine (Albert) Kirschenmann, Alma (Rudo) Kappes, Arlene (Jerrol) Fischer, Paul Janke (brother-in-law).
Marion’s prayer has always been when all her families get married, that they love each other and that the person they marry believes in God and some day we will all meet again in Heaven with our Lord God.
