The Winner Resource Center for Families, Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center and the Avera St. Mary’s Central South Dakota Child Assessment Center are among the 41 groups that are splitting $5 million in grant money.
Attorney General Marty Jackley grants were awarded to organizations that will use the funds to assist children who have been abused or neglected, are victims of domestic violence or are victims of sexual assault. He says the grants will provide some of the resources needed to allow these organizations to continue their work helping victims of these serious crimes.
The Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center in Pierre is getting nearly $100,000 ($99, 540); the Avera St. Mary’s Child Assessment Center is getting almost $40,000 ($39,757) and the Winner Resource Center for Families is getting more than $44,500 ($44,628).
Jackley says these are one-time grants given to organizations that do not receive full funding from the federal Victims of Crimes Act grant. The money is aimed at organizations that assist children who have been abused or neglected, are victims of domestic violence or are the victim of sexual abuse.
