The two machines Hughes County will use to count ballots next week (Nov. 5, 2024) have passed another accuracy test.
County Finance Officer Thomas Oliva conducted the test this week (Oct. 30, 2024).
Oliva says to ensure the security of the tabulating machines, they have safety features to signify if there’s been tampering.
Additionally, Oliva says he has back-up batteries for the tabulators and generators for the courthouse are ready to keep the machines going in case of a power outage Tuesday night.
