Two emerging leaders from the City of Pierre were among 25 utility professionals who recently completed the Supervisor Essentials Course, a leadership development program offered by Missouri River Energy Services (MRES). The course participants were John Petrik and Matt Scott, who are both lead linemen for the City of Pierre.
The year-long program, which consists of four sessions, is designed to equip emerging utility leaders with the essential tools, knowledge, connections and confidence to excel in supervisory roles. Facilitated by staff from the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association’s education department, the course is tailored for individuals currently in, or aspiring to, leadership positions such as supervisors, managers or crew leaders.
MRES is a not-for-profit joint-action agency that provides wholesale electricity and energy-related services to 61 member municipalities in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. MRES is committed to enhancing the value of member utilities to their communities by supplying reliable, cost-effective, long-term energy and energy services in a fiscally responsible and environmentally sensitive manner.
