PIERRE, SD – David Floyd Shortey III was born on January 30, 1974 in Rawlins, WY to David Floyd Shortey Jr. and Charlotte Jo (Farmer) Shortey. David Floyd Shortey III made his journey to the Spirit World in October 14, 2024 at the Avera McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. A celebration of David’s life will be held at 6:00pm, Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Lakota Chapel in Pierre.
David Floyd Shortey III is survived by his spouse, Jacqueline Shortey children, Mato Luta Ce David Shortey, Kimimila Shortey, Kaylyn Shortey and Simon Shortey; maternal grandmother Janet Eileen (McCloskey) Rogers; sisters, Michelle Dana Farmer, April Dawn Phillips; and brother, Ralph Allan Lee Shortey. David Floyd Shortey III was preceded in death by his parents, David Floyd Shortey, Jr. and Charlotte Jo (Farmer) Shortey; brother Simon Anthony Shortey; paternal grandparent, Aloysius Lee Farmer.
