ONIDA, SD – Stacie Marie Mosiman passed away on October 19, 2024, in Sioux Falls, SD. Born on February 13, 1989, in Aberdeen, SD, Stacie’s life was a testament to her selfless, friendly, and loving nature. Family will greet visitors from 5:00-6:00pm, Sunday, October 27, 2024 and conclude the evening with a prayer service at 6:00pm, all taking place a Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Onida. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am, Monday, October 28, 2024 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with interment following at the Onida Cemetery. You are invited to wear Stacie’s favorite colors, blue and teal, in her honor as we celebrate her life.
Stacie grew up in Onida, SD, where she attended school and graduated in 2007. Her thirst for knowledge and passion for technology led her to pursue further education at Mitchell Technical Institute, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Computer Systems Technology. Stacie’s professional journey began in Brookings, where she lived and worked for three years before returning to Onida. She joined Bothun Insurance Agency in Pierre, serving from 2012 to 2017, and later embarked on a fulfilling career at Sunrise Bank in Onida, where she remained until her untimely passing. Stacie also enjoyed working part time at The Corner where she was able visit with friends and neighbors.
Her work ethic and dedication to her community were paralleled only by her commitment to her family and friends. Stacie is survived by her cherished son, Carter Mosiman, who was the light of her life. She also leaves behind her loving parents, Rodney and Marla (Erickson) Mosiman; her sister, Nicole Mosiman; her aunt, Dianne Biteler; her uncles, Corwyn (Michelle) Mosiman, Monte (Nicole) Mosiman, and Larry Mosiman (Tina); as well as numerous cousins, extended family members, her special friend Hannes Van Tonder, many friends and her beloved dog, Leo. Stacie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Melvin and Leona Erickson and Alfred and Margaret Mosiman, who instilled in her the values of kindness and generosity that she carried throughout her life.
Stacie’s passions were many and varied. She was an accomplished pianist and trumpeter, often sharing her musical talents with those around her. Her love for photography shone through in her role as photographer for the high school yearbook and in the cherished moments she captured of children playing sports. Stacie had an eye for beauty, frequently pausing to watch and photograph the serene moments of a sunrise or sunset.
Above all, Stacie’s greatest love was her family. She and her son Carter shared countless special memories, from crafting origami frogs to enjoying movies together. Their laughter and joy were infectious, and their bond was unbreakable. Whether they were watching films, spending time with family, or fishing, Stacie and Carter’s connection was a beautiful sight to behold.
Stacie’s circle of friends was a testament to her caring and friendly nature. She was the person many turned to for help, whether it was for a listening ear or to solve a perplexing technology issue. Her involvement in the community was extensive. She was baptized and confirmed into the faith at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she remains a member. She is a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the South Dakota American Legion Band, and a participant in the Capitol City Band.
Stacie Marie Mosiman’s legacy is one of love, service, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to Stacie, we celebrate the life of a woman who was truly a big part of her community and the embodiment of selflessness. Her spirit will continue to inspire us all.
